• Total chooses Apollo for consultancy engineering services

    Aberdeen-based engineering and technology company, Apollo, has been awarded a consultancy engineering services contract with Total E&P UK. The contract, which runs for an initial period of three years, covers seven work packages including: safety engineering, environmental engineering, development engineering, process and flow assurance, facilities engineering, subsea and pipelines engineering and decommissioning. The award of the contract follows investment from Global Energy Group in 2019 which allowed Apollo to re-focus as a front-end and through-life engineering provider.   • Chrysaor submits licence application for CO2 storage

    North Sea oil and gas independent Chrysaor has submitted a Licence Application for the purpose of storing CO2, and will, in parallel, seek agreement for a Storage Lease with The Crown Estate for the storage of CO2 in a depleted southern North Sea gas reservoir. These applications are in support of the V Net Zero Project, which aims to store and transport CO2 from the Immingham cluster on Humberside.     Deltic Energy has issued an update on activity relating to Licence P2252, which contains the Pensacola Prospect. The company reports that Shell, in its capacity as operator of the Licence, has reiterated to Deltic and the UK Oil and Gas Authority, its plan to drill the high-impact, play opening Pensacola Prospect on Licence P2252 and that it remains scheduled to be drilled in Q4 2021.     Independent Oil and Gas (IOG) has awarded the rig contract for its Core Project Phase 1 to a subsidiary of Noble Corporation. This follows a competitive selection process by IOG’s drilling and contracting teams, assisted by well management contractor Petrofac, involving extensive technical and commercial evaluation across several drilling contractors.     Following the recent acquisition of its second asset, Well-Safe Solutions has secured a significant £26 million investment to fund the next phase of its growth plan. The further investment into the decommissioning company was led by MW&L Capital Partners, following the group’s initial investment of £66 million in Well-Safe in October 2019.     Archer has secured a two-year contract extension with a major North Sea operator for the provision of platform drilling operations and maintenance services on seven UK North Sea installations. The extension will commence 1 November 2020 in direct continuation of the current contract. Over the next two years Archer will continue to deliver platform rig drilling operations, maintenance and intervention support activities including where required the provision of Well Services and rental equipment.
