• Accenture, Ripjar help Shell in applying AI across global supply chain

    Accenture and Ripjar, a UK-based data intelligence company, are collaborating with Royal Dutch Shell to further enhance risk screening within its global supply chain using artificial intelligence (AI). Shell is leveraging Accenture’s industry experience and risk expertise to configure Ripjar’s AI technology for analysis of its supply chain. The insights will provide additional accuracy and efficiency in screening for risks across Shell’s third-party supply chain transactions. The AI technology embedded in the system could also reduce data-reporting errors by over 80%, when compared to third-party legacy systems.   • Serica spuds Columbus development well

    Serica Energy has confirmed the spudding of the Columbus 23/16f-CDev1 development well in the UK Central North Sea. The well will be drilled to a total depth of 17,600ft and will include a 5,600ft horizontal section. The well is being drilled with the Maersk Resilient Heavy Duty Jack Up rig and is expected to take around 70 days. The Columbus development area is 35km north east of the Shearwater production facilities and will be drained by a single producing well tied into the existing Arran to Shearwater pipeline.     Eni has announced that the HyNet North West integrated project, aimed at decarbonising the important industrial district in the North-West of England, has received £33 million in funding from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).     Ancala Midstream Acquisitions has secured a life-of-field contract to transport and process gas from the Solveig field located in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The field is operated by Lundin Energy Norway, one of Europe’s leading independent oil and gas exploration and production companies.
