  • Chevron North Sea Limited awards Captain enhanced oil recovery project contracts to United Kingdom suppliers

    Chevron North Sea Limited has announced that it has awarded Front End Engineering and Design contracts for its Captain enhanced oil recovery (EOR) project to two UK suppliers. The Captain EOR project contract awards have been made to: Wood Group Kenny Caledonia Limited for the subsea engineering of the trees, wellheads, controls and the polymer injection flowlines to the subsea injection wells. The workscope will be carried out in Aberdeen. An Amec Foster Wheeler company for the facilities engineering of the proposed bridge-linked platform (BLP), which will be used to store, mix and pump polymer.     Amec Foster Wheeler announced that it has acquired Scopus Group (Holdings) Limited (Scopus), a market-leading laser scanning, dimensional control and lean engineering company whose precise survey data is used to engineer piping and structural solutions for the global oil and gas industry.   • Aker Solutions wins hook-up and commissioning contract for Mariner development

    Aker Solutions secured a contract from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering to provide engineering, construction and commissioning services for the hook-up phase of the Mariner oilfield development in the UK North Sea. The agreement is worth more than £120 million. It comes in addition to a five-year maintenance and modifications services contract awarded in June by Statoil for the Mariner field, which is set to start production in 2017.   • Wood Group secures major BP contract

    Wood Group has been awarded a five year contract with an estimated value of $750million from BP. Under the contract Wood Group PSN (WGPSN), will deliver engineering, procurement and construction services to six UK continental shelf (UKCS) offshore upstream assets and the Forties Pipeline System (FPS) onshore midstream facilities in Grangemouth. Effective January 2015, the contract will create 150 new jobs and secure more than 700 existing positions.     The new ‘Neptune’ technology centre development announced this month will deliver a long needed centre of excellence for hyperbaric testing in the UK. Situated on the north bank of the River Tyne in Newcastle, the facility will be jointly owned by BEL Valves and Newcastle University.
