  • EM&I contract award from Ensco

    One of the industry’s biggest drilling contractors, Ensco, has awarded EM&I the Bottom in Water Survey (UWILD) on the semi-submersible drilling rig ENSCO 5004, classed by Bureau Veritas, which is currently drilling offshore Libya. This is a milestone contract for EM&I as it is the first contract with Ensco and on a semi-submersible, and will use EM&I’s ODIN® & NoMan® technology to complete the survey. Read more…

    Proserv has launched a new subsea sampling cylinder that can improve the quality of results and reduce risks normally associated with sample transfer. Based on existing technology, the Proserv Subsea Sampling Cylinder is the world’s first fully qualified and certified ‘for shipping’ sample cylinder to be deployed in a subsea environment.     On 6 March 2017 15 ACE Apprentices will celebrate their graduation after completing a four-year Modern Apprenticeship with the company.  The ACE Winches Apprenticeship Programme was set up over 20 years ago to provide a succession of young talent to the company.   • Sparrows Group lifts five year contract

    Sparrows Group has secured a five year contract to deliver hydraulic, lifting and rigging services for Maersk Oil’s UK floating assets. The agreement will see Sparrows support the operator in strengthening its lifting operations for the Global Producer 3 and Gryphon FPSO’s and the new Culzean FSO. The scope encompasses hydraulic services including maintenance, repair and parts and materials procurement; as well as the supply, management and certification of all lifting gear. Read more…

  • International SOS reveals results from 2017 Business Impact of Travel Risk survey

    International SOS has revealed the results of the 2017 Business Impact of Travel Risk survey. Key findings, from the survey of European executives, include that travel security risk mitigation programmes are undermined by a lack of effective communication, with 70 per cent of respondents planning to address this in 2017, and 60% have only a partial or no understanding at all of medical threats faced by their mobile workforce.   • Aker Solutions secures two global engineering framework accords from BP

    Aker Solutions was awarded two framework agreements to provide concept and front-end engineering (FEED) services for BP globally. The first contract is for feasibility and concept engineering and the second is for FEED services covering the full range of upstream developments. Each agreement is for three years with options to extend for two years. The work will involve Aker Solutions teams globally. Read more…
