The Health and Safety Executive has initiated, and will lead, a shared research project with industry that aims to improve collective knowledge and understanding of the long-term integrity of engineered composite repairs. The extent and use of engineered composite repairs on both onshore and offshore structures has increased dramatically in recent years. While such repairs have so far proven satisfactory, greater understanding is required as to their long-term performance and integrity, particularly where they may be used in safety critical applications.
